The Plumosa School of the Arts – New Middle School Building Addition project consists of a new, two-story, 40,000 square-foot classroom building that adds approximately 636 student stations featuring grades 6th through 8th supplemental to its current K through 5 school which features programs inclusive of visual, performing and communication arts, dance, digital graphic design, multimedia, music, and theatre. B&I’s contract included the HVAC scope. The contract value for the work was over $1 Million. B&I self-performed 95% of the mechanical piping, ductwork and equipment installation. HVAC Scope: Selective HVAC demolition, Air Handling Units, Blower Coil Units, Split Systems, Pumps, Terminal Units and Variable Frequency Drives. Chilled Water, Refrigerant and Condensate Drain piping with associated Insulation, Air Distribution, Fans, Louvers, Gravity Vent, Bi-Polar Ionization Units, Sound Attenuators, and Duct Heaters, Double Wall Supply and Return Duct for the first 20’ from air handling units, Externally Insulated Sheetmetal Supply Duct, Uninsulated Sheetmetal Return, Outside Air and Exhaust Duct, HVAC Control Installation, Water Treatment.
