The new Sarasota Memorial Hospital-Venice in southwest Florida is slated to open in the Fall of 2021 and will offer services and avenues for healthier lives to area residents.
Sarasota, FL (January 20, 2020) B & I Contractors, a Florida based subcontracting and building services firm, has been awarded the HVAC and plumbing contracts for the new Sarasota Memorial Hospital campus located in Venice, Florida.
The new 365,000-square-foot hospital is designed to be flexible and expandable. Initially, it will open with 110 private patient suites, a 28-room Emergency Care Center and eight surgical suites, and has the capacity to double in size. The hospital will offer a comprehensive range of medical and surgical care, including: Cardiology Units/Catheterization Lab; Critical Care/Intensive Care Unit; Emergency Care; Endoscopy & other procedural areas; Gastroenterology; Labor & Delivery/Post-Partum Unit; Imaging; Laboratory/Diagnostic Testing; Nephrology; Neurology/Neurosurgery; Oncology; Orthopedics; Pulmonology; Imaging/Radiology and Urology.
The project also includes a new hurricane-hardened Central Energy Center to provide emergency back-up power to the hospital. The project is a design-assist effort with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Gilbane Building Company and Affiliated Engineers.
