RSW – Air Traffic Control Tower

Months of REVIT model coordination was utilized by B&I to provide plumbing systems and generator fuel storage for this state-of-the-art air traffic control tower and TRACON building to meet the strict specifications of the Federal Aviation Administration. This design included a domestic water buster pump system to supply water service to the top of the 224-foot tower, BMS integrated 360° cab defogger system, central vacuum system, sanitary system, and storm water drainage through the cab glass mullions. A 4000-gallon fuel storage tank and double containment underground piping supplied fuel to the facility generator. Condensate and make up water piping systems were installed throughout the building to support the HVAC system including large air handling units and humidifiers.
