At B&I, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s a fundamental value that underscores everything we do. Every year we utilize several programs aimed at recognizing and rewarding employees who go above and beyond to keep our job sites hazard-free. These programs not only emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe work environment but also celebrate the efforts of those who actively contribute to our shared success. Specific details about rewards and benefits and our final numbers will be shared at the beginning of April.
Safety Incentive Program
Safety is a B&I core value, and to emphasize the importance of a safe workplace, we have implemented a Safety Incentive Program to support our employees’ efforts to maintain workplace safety. The Safety Incentive Program awards a Field Employee (boots on the job site) for each calendar quarter of the year where the employee has actively helped to identify any unsafe or hazardous conditions on the job site.
Safety Reward Recognition Program
Managers, superintendents, and foremen will nominate one field employee (foreman level and down) for each calendar quarter of the year where the employee has actively helped to identify any unsafe or hazardous conditions on the jobsite.
Annual Safety Incentive Reward
As employee-owners, you should know we are “self-insured” for workers’ compensation insurance, which means we pay our own injury claims. Keeping our injuries to a minimum reduces claim costs, resulting in a lower loss ratio and savings for our company. We’ve controlled injuries and costs by working together to build our safety culture. As a reward for achieving excellent results, we are giving back a portion of these savings to all who were on board for most of a calendar year. That said, all employees who contributed to a successful year will receive a Home Depot Gift Card.
