Matt Mason serves as the Vice President of HVAC & Plumbing Operations at B&I Contractors, where he has been a dedicated team member for 23 years. A Tampa native, he attended Tampa Bay Technical High School. Matt began his career at B&I as a Journeyman, steadily advancing through roles as Foreman, Superintendent, and Trade Manager before stepping into his current leadership position.

Professionally, Matt is known for fostering collaboration and building strong relationships within his teams. He has a natural talent for finding creative solutions to complex problems, enhancing both teamwork and project success. Matt is passionate about cultivating a supportive and inclusive work environment, emphasizing the importance of listening, valuing contributions, and giving constructive feedback. He’s particularly motivated by mentoring and coaching emerging leaders, ensuring they feel valued and have the same opportunities he was given.

In addition to his role at B&I, Matt is active in the community, serving as a board member of the Tri County Apprenticeship Academy (TCAA) and as an event coordinator for the ABC National Craft Competition Committee (NCCC). His professional certifications include AWS Certified Welding Inspector and State of Florida Certified General Contractor, further underscoring his technical expertise and commitment to quality.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, and being with his family. His personal goal is to visit all of America’s National Parks, reflecting his love for nature and adventure.

With a decade at B&I Contractors and nearly 30 years in the construction industry, Lazaro Carbajales brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record in optimizing operations and profitability. A graduate of Florida International University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Lazaro’s extensive experience spans a variety of sectors, including healthcare, commercial, hospitality, high-rise residential, and education. His dedication to client relationships and community connections has established him as a trusted partner and mentor within B&I.

Known for his resourceful problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to leadership, Lazaro is passionate about empowering teams and exceeding customer expectations. His knack for building strong client relationships and fostering growth has driven successful, lasting partnerships for B&I.

Beyond his professional life, Lazaro is active in his community, supporting organizations like the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, and Habitat for Humanity. Originally from La Habana, Cuba, and raised in Miami, he enjoys quality time with his family, often spending weekends outdoors or barbecuing together.

With travel on his mind, Lazaro’s bucket list includes a family trip to Greece and Ireland.
