The Associated Builders and Contractors of Florida (ABC) is pleased to announce Gary H. Griffin, President and CEO of B&I Contractors, Inc, as the 2021 Chairman of the Board for the statewide association.
A native of Fort Myers, Gary earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1986 and joined B & I as a Project Manager that same year. He received his Florida Professional Engineers license and became Vice President of B & I in 1991, then was named President and CEO in 1995.
Gary is a longtime active member of the local ABC Gulf Coast Chapter and the State Board, bringing with him a variety of project experience and a lengthy resume of successful projects. In addition to his efforts with ABC, Gary is involved in numerous community and professional organizations and is currently:
- Chair of Healthy Lee Steering and Executive Committees
- Chair of FGCU Construction Industry Advisory Board
- Chair of 2021 of ABC of Florida
- Past Chair & Board Member for The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools
- Trustee for the Southwest Florida Community Foundation
He served the State of Florida as Commissioner on the Florida Building Commission from 2005 through 2008 and currently serves as a member of the Mechanical Technical Advisory Committee to the Commission.
ABC of Florida, representing more than 2,000 member companies and five chapters throughout the state, is the largest commercial construction association in Florida, and the “Voice of Commercial Construction” in Tallahassee.
